Mrs. K. Childs (11/2-6/09):

Friday
• Students in study hall need to come prepared to work on homework for another class or bring a book to read.
• Students in Geography need to report directly to Mr. Miller at the beginning of the period.

Revision #2
• This week students are beginning their second revision which will be due later in November. Although we will not be working on it in class next week (due to the midterm), all students are encouraged to attend tutorial to continue working on the revision, so that they do not fall behind on it. This is strongly recommended for any students who fell behind on the last revision.

Midterm Preparation 11/9
• During class on Monday we will go over the two essays that students will choose from for their midterm. It is very important that students attend in order to participate in the discussion of the articles before the midterm on Tuesday

Midterm 11/10 & 11/12
• Students will have an in-class essay for the midterm on Tuesday and Thursday of next week (Wednesday is Veterans Day). The midterm is worth 10% of their overall grade in the class. If students need additional time to complete the midterm, they can attend one hour of tutorial on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday after school to complete it. Students may come to my room in the morning before school on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday (starting at 7:00 a.m.) instead if that works better for their schedule. If students are in study hall with me on Friday, they may use that time instead of tutorial if they choose to do so. They cannot have more than one extra hour, and the essay will be due at the end of that hour.
Extra Credit:
• If students bring in two cans of vegetables for the Operation Homefront food drive, they will earn one extra credit point. This point can be used either as a hall pass or as extra credit on the final. November 20 is the last day to bring in cans.
