Escondido Charter High School

"Education Is Our Business"

About Us

"Fully Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)"

"Approved as a 'Digital High School' by the state of California"

Escondido Charter High School (ECHS) is a back-to-basics school of choice serving students in San Diego County and adjacent counties. ECHS is a public school; there is no tuition. The school was started in 1996 by Dennis "Coach" Snyder, an educator and coach who had more than 30 years experience in public education at the time the school was founded. Coach Snyder believes that students need a school where education is the primary focus, and the improvement of pupil learning the main goal.

ECHS provides a safe and orderly learning environment through small class sizes and individualized educational programs that meet the needs of students from all types of backgrounds and academic skill levels. The courses have been approved by the University of California System.

ECHS offers:

- College preparatory programs
- Individualized Learning Program to meet student needs
- Language Arts and Mathematics enrichment centers
- Extensive computer technology curriculum
- Year-round classes
- Work experience programs
- Credentialed staff
- Locations in Escondido and San Marcos

Escondido Charter High School is committed to providing a safe and orderly learning environment in which teachers are responsible for implementing a curriculum based on the fundamental skills that form the foundation of learning: reading, writing, mathematics, and computer skills.

Accomplishment in academic areas is stressed. In addition, Escondido Charter High School emphasizes the understanding and appreciation of American Civilization and United States History.

Escondido Charter High School believes that parents and the school share a dual responsibility in developing the education plan that will provide the individual student the opportunity to succeed both as a scholar and as a citizen.
