Who Wants to Be a Superhero?:
The Saxon Film Club, one of Charter’s most Chartarian traditions, is holding its first official meeting of the year Wednesday, September 6, at 3:00 p.m. in Mr. Endermann’s room (F100). What is the Saxon Film Club all about? No, we don’t sit around doing math. It’s about fun, friends, and having fun with friends while producing movies about mathematical superheroes and supervillains! So if you have ever dreamed about being a superhero, or are interested in any aspect of making movies (producing, directing, acting, costume-making, video editing, special effects, etc.), or just want to be a part of a Charter legacy, come to the meeting tomorrow to learn more. The club is open to anyone! If you can’t make the meeting, just come talk to Mr. Endermann, or ask your friendly neighborhood Saxon member for more information. Go Saxon!

College Applications:
All seniors received an updated copy of their transcript to assist in filling out college applications. Begin working on your applications well in advance of the deadlines, November 30 for California State Universities (CSU) and University of California (UC) campuses. Private college application deadlines vary between November and February. To begin working on an application for a CSU campus, visit www.csumentor.edu. To begin working on an application for UC campus, visit www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergraduate.html.

Senior Portfolio Deadline:
All seniors received information about the first assignment for their Senior Portfolio, the Career Plan and Educational Plan. Remember to submit both items to your mentor by the deadline, Friday, September 8.

Attention All Chartarian Artists:
The 2006-2007 yearbook staff would like to invite all artists and writers to enter their best work for this year’s yearbook. The 2006-2007 yearbook will be an all color production for the first time ever! All creative writing and art entries should include this year’s yearbook theme, “The Next Level.” Entries must be turned into Mr. Krause after school in room G103 from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All work will be evaluated by the yearbook staff to determine which entries are the best of the best. The winning entries will be placed in the upcoming yearbook, and credit will be given to the artists. Be creative and take advantage of this opportunity to be a part of the 2006-2007 yearbook! If you have questions, please see Mr. Krause in G103.
