Thursday and Friday, November 2 to November 3, 2006
Week 12
Operation Homefront San Diego:
Our military families need assistance during the Thanksgiving holiday,
and ECHS would like your help. Our goal is to help needy families by providing
the essentials needed for complete meals. We are asking for boxed and
canned goods as follows:
Seniors: Boxed potatoes/canned gravy
Juniors: Pies/rolls
Sophomores: Boxed stuffing/canned cranberries/marshmallows
Freshmen: Canned veggies (corn/green beans/yams)
Faculty: Donations to purchase gift certificates for turkeys
Please bring donations to the Main Office. The deadline has been extended
to November 15.
Veteran’s Day:
ECHS will be closed on Friday, November 10, for Veteran’s Day.
Veteran’s Day Assembly:
Due to the Veteran’s Day Assembly, there is a modified schedule
for next Thursday, November 9. The assembly will begin at 2:00 p.m. and
student dismissal will remain at 2:55 p.m.
Homecoming Court:
ASB will announce the 2006 Homecoming Court at tomorrow's football game.
Homecoming:
Purchase your tickets now! Tickets will be sold during lunch for TCP students
and in the main office for ILP students. Tickets purchased today and tomorrow
will be sold for $25. Starting Monday, November 6, tickets will go up
to $35. Don't miss out!
Looping Louie:
Come join in the sport of the new millennium - Looping Louie! In Looping
Louie, you are a humble farmer trying to save your defenseless chickens
from a ruthless barnstormer. ASB will sponsor a Looping Louie Tournament
during lunch on Wednesday, November 8. If you would like to participate,
sign up with Mr. Takagi in Room E100.
Congratulations Freshmen:
As the winners of the Class Basket Competition (Round-up Fundraiser highest
selling basket), you all have won a free lunch from Chipotle! The PAB
will serve you this special lunch on November 6, so bring your appetite.
Saxon Day (TCP):
Saxon Day is almost here! ECHS's 8th annual celebration of Saxon Math
will be held on Tuesday, November 21, so start preparing your math- or
Saxon-related songs, skits, or other performances! Acts should be no more
than 5 minutes in length, and you can sign them up with Mr. Endermann
in F100 starting today. Acts will be screened after school on Friday,
November 17. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Endermann or your math
teacher. Go Saxon!
Attention Parents & Students:
The California Highway Patrol's "Start Smart Program," which
is a driver’s safety class for new & future teen drivers, will
be at our school for a special PAB meeting. Mark your calendars now for
November 14, from 6:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Watch your mail for a letter &
flyer giving more information.
It’s Prom Time!
Seniors and juniors, come join the Prom Committee in Mrs. Soule’s
room (C102) at lunch every Thursday.
Attention:
Winter sports participants (Wrestling, Soccer, Basketball) are reminded
you need to submit your athletic handbook forms to your respective winter
sport coach or turn the forms into the main office by November 13 (first
official day of winter sports practices). Athletes cannot practice unless
an athletic handbook form is on file. If you have any questions, please
contact Mr. Brose.
Cross-Country:
Next Friday, November 10, the cross country team will compete in the Coastal
League Finals, 2:30 p.m., at Kit Carson Park. The team members will need
to meet at Kit Carson Park by 1:15 p.m.
Football:
Our White Tigers defeated the Borrego JV Rams, 50-0, on Friday. The team’s
overall record stands at 6-2. This Friday, November 3, our team will tackle
the All Tribes American Indian Charter School Wolves at Escondido High
School. The game begins at 4:00 p.m. Admission for adults: $5.00, students
without ID: $3.00, and students with an ID: $2.00. Come and cheer our
White Tigers onto victory!
Boy's Soccer Team:
There will be a second informational meeting for those interested in playing
for our boy's soccer team this winter. The meeting will be on Tuesday,
November 7 at 4:00 p.m. in room C201. Contact Mr. Cheney (San Marcos,

Volleyball:
Our girls’ volleyball team will have their awards banquet this Saturday,
November 4, at 5:00 p.m. in the student union. Volleyball players and
their parents are invited to come and celebrate the success of our first
ECHS volleyball team. Way to go, White Tiger Volleyball team.
Wrestling Team:
We will have a brief meeting on Thursday, November 9, at 3:10 p.m., in
Mr. Grady’s classroom (Room F-104). The wrestling team will discuss
the upcoming season practice/competition schedule, as well as the sweats/t-shirt/shorts
orders. Make sure you get your athletic handbook forms completed by Monday,
November 13, which is the first day of practice. On Monday, November 13,
we will begin at 3:10 p.m. on the soccer field for stretching and running.
After Monday’s practice (5:40 p.m.), we will meet with your parents
and discuss the upcoming season expectations. If you have any questions
contact Mr. Grady or Mr. Brose (760-737-3154, ext. 148). Go White Tiger
wrestling!
FCA:
(Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Academians) meets every Wednesday at
lunchtime in Room C-201 (Mr. Brose’s classroom). Come and share
with us!
FCA Leadership:
There will be a meeting of the leadership team of Fellowship of Christian
Athletes/Academian’s at lunch this Friday, November 3, in Mrs. Soule’s
room (C102).
