CHARTER NOTES
Monday thru Thursday, November 6 to November 9, 2006

Week 13

ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Wednesday. All ISPE logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library!

Veteran’s Day:
ECHS will be closed on Friday, November 10, for Veteran’s Day.

Veteran’s Day Assembly (TCP):
Due to the Veteran’s Day Assembly, there is a modified schedule for next Thursday, November 9. The assembly will begin at 2:00 p.m. and student dismissal will remain at 2:55 p.m. The modified schedule for the assembly is attached.
Note: All teachers are requested to escort your 6th period students to the commons for the assembly. Also, please inform all Blended students of the schedule change.

CHSEE:
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) make-up will be administered on Tuesday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 8 in the library. All students required to take the make-up exam will be contacted.
Note: The library will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Operation Homefront San Diego:
Our military families need assistance during the Thanksgiving holiday, and ECHS would like your help. Our goal is to help needy families by providing the essentials needed for complete meals. We are asking for boxed and canned goods as follows:

Seniors: Boxed potatoes/canned gravy
Juniors: Pies/rolls
Sophomores: Boxed stuffing/canned cranberries/marshmallows
Freshmen: Canned veggies (corn/green beans/yams)
Faculty: Donations to purchase gift certificates for turkeys
Please bring donations to the Main Office. The deadline has been extended to November 15.

Homecoming:
The last day to buy tickets for Saturday's Homecoming dance is Thursday, November 9. Tickets now cost $35 and are available for purchase during lunch for TCP students and in the main office for ILP students. The dance will be located at Church of the Resurrection, at 1445 Conway Drive, from 7 to 10 pm. We hope you enjoy yourself at the dance, but remember that all rules for student conduct still apply. Inappropriate conduct or dancing will result in dismissal from the dance.

Looping Louie:

Come participate in the Looping Louie Tournament on Wednesday at lunch. Priority will be given to students that sign up before the event with Mr. Takagi in Room E100.

Congratulations Freshmen (TCP):
As the winners of the Class Basket Competition (Round-up Fundraiser highest selling basket), you all have won a free lunch from Chipotle! The PAB will serve you this special lunch today.

Attention Seniors (TCP):
Come celebrate the end of the week on the Senior Lawn! Each week there will be a special teacher DJ. This Thursday, Mr. Grady will treat us to some of his favorite tunes.

Saxon Day (TCP):
Saxon Day is almost here! ECHS's 8th annual celebration of Saxon Math will be held on Tuesday, November 21, so start preparing your math- or Saxon-related songs, skits, or other performances! Acts should be no more than 5 minutes in length, and you can sign them up with Mr. Endermann in F100 starting today. Acts will be screened after school on Friday, November 17. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Endermann or your math teacher. Go Saxon!

Attention Parents & Students:
The California Highway Patrol's "Start Smart Program," which is a driver’s safety class for new & future teen drivers, will be at our school for a special PAB meeting. Mark your calendars now for November 14, from 6:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Watch your mail for a letter & flyer giving more information.

Prom Committee:
The Prom Committee will meet during lunch today, November 6, in Mrs. Soule’s room (C102).

NHS:
Don’t miss this Tuesday’s NHS meeting! We will introducve (and hopefully distributing) our new fundraiser!

CSF:
We have the opportunity to potentially double our scholarship fund by holding another bake sale at the next Parent Advisory Board meeting. Unfortunately, that’s in less than 2 weeks! Help!!! Please see Ms. Rittenhouse ASAP if you can bake, provide coffee supplies, or sell on November 14.

Chess Club:
Come up to F-203 after school on Tuesday’s for fun and a challenge.

Girl’s Soccer:
Practice begins on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 8-10. Bring water, shin guards, cleats, signed handbooks (including physical), and a good attitude. You will be expected to be on time and ready to play. If you can’t be there, you need to see Mr. Torres or Mr. Page.

Attention:
Winter sports participants (Wrestling, Soccer, Basketball) are reminded you need to submit your athletic handbook forms to your respective winter sport coach or turn the forms into the main office by November 13 (first official day of winter sports practices). Athletes cannot practice unless an athletic handbook form is on file. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Brose.

Football:
Come and watch our White Tigers battle the La Jolla Country Day School Torries’ JV team on Friday, November 10 at 4:30 p.m., at La Jolla Country Day School (9490 Genessee Avenue, La Jolla, 92037). All football players and cheerleaders will need to be at the game by 3:30 p.m. This is the season finale, so come and cheer our team onto victory! Go ECHS White Tiger football!

Cross Country:
This Friday, November 10, our White Tiger cross country runners will compete in the Coastal League finals, 2:30 p.m., at Kit Carson Park. The team members need to meet at Kit Carson Park at 1:15 p.m. Come and cheer our runners onto victory! Go ECHS White Tiger runners!

Boy's Soccer Team:
There will be a second informational meeting for those interested in playing for our boy's soccer team this winter. The meeting will be on Tuesday, November 7 at 4:00 p.m. in room C201. Wrestling Team:
We will have a brief meeting on Thursday, November 9, at 3:10 p.m., in Mr. Grady’s classroom (Room F-104). The wrestling team will discuss the upcoming season practice/competition schedule, as well as the sweats/t-shirt/shorts orders. Make sure you get your athletic handbook forms completed by Monday, November 13, which is the first day of practice. On Monday, November 13, we will begin at 3:10 p.m. on the soccer field for stretching and running. After Monday’s practice (5:40 p.m.), we will meet with your parents and discuss the upcoming season expectations. If you have any questions contact Mr. Grady or Mr. Brose (760-737-3154, ext. 148).
