Week 14

ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Wednesday. All ISPE logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library!

Attention Parents & Students:
The California Highway Patrol's "Start Smart Program," which is a driver’s safety class for new & future teen drivers, will be at our school for a special PAB meeting. Mark your calendars now for November 14, from 6:45 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Sign up sheets for the event are in the main office.

Operation Homefront San Diego:
Our military families need assistance during the Thanksgiving holiday, and ECHS would like your help. Our goal is to help needy families by providing the essentials needed for complete meals. We are asking for boxed and canned goods as follows:

Seniors: Boxed potatoes/canned gravy
Juniors: Pies/rolls
Sophomores: Boxed stuffing/canned cranberries/marshmallows
Freshmen: Canned veggies (corn/green beans/yams)
Faculty: Donations to purchase gift certificates for turkeys
Please bring donations to the main office. The deadline has been extended to November 15.

Looping Louie Update!

Congratulations to John Oliveira for winning the first Looping Louie competition. If you are interested in participating in a Looping Louie league that would take place during lunch, please contact Mr.
Takagi in Room E100.

Charity Event:
St. Paul Lutheran Church is sponsoring a charity event on Saturday, November 18 to raise money for the Lawson family. The church will hold a rummage sale from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., a car wash from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and a bake sale during both events. All parents, students, and community members are invited to attend.

If you are interested in volunteering time at the event, please contact Mrs. Pendergrass at 760-419-0550.

Saxon Day (TCP):
Saxon Day is almost here! ECHS's 8th annual celebration of Saxon Math will be held on Tuesday, November 21, so start preparing your math- or Saxon-related songs, skits, or other performances! Acts should be no more than 5 minutes in length, and you can sign them up with Mr. Endermann in F100 starting today. Acts will be screened after school on Friday, November 17. If you have any questions, ask Mr. Endermann or your math teacher. Go Saxon!

Chess Club:
What are you doing Monday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.? How about matching your wits against some of Charter’s finest chess minds? Chess club meets every Monday in F-203.

NHS:
Our fundraiser is off to a great start! Check in with Ms. Rittenhouse to turn in money and get restocked!

CSF:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is both a meeting day and a bake sale day. Even if you did not sign up for the bake sale, we’d love to have you participate! Make sure to have Ms. Rittenhouse log in your participation.

Cross Country:
Our cross country team will compete in the San Diego CIF Finals on Saturday, November 18, at Morley Field in Balboa Park in San Diego at 9:00 a.m. All cross country team members need to meet at the McDonald’s on Via Rancho Parkway at 7:30 a.m. Go White Tigers Cross Country!

Football:

The ECHS White Tiger Football team will celebrate their inaugural football season with an awards night potluck on Thursday, November 16, 6:00 pm., in the student union. All players must bring a main food dish, and players with the following letters of the alphabet need to bring the following items: A-H- Drinks, I-P- Salad of some type, Q-Z- Dessert. Congratulations, White Tiger Football Team of 2006-2007!

Winter Sports:
The following winter sports teams begin their seasons today (Monday, November 13):

Girls’ Basketball- Tryouts @ Valley High School Gym, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Wear shirts, shorts, socks, and basketball shoes.

Boys’ Basketball- Practice @ Valley High School Gym, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Wear shirts, shorts, socks, and basketball shoes.

Girls’ Soccer- Practice on the ECHS soccer field, 3:30 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. Wear shirts, shorts, socks, and soccer cleats.

Boys’ Soccer- Practice on the ECHS soccer field, 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Wear shirts, shorts, socks, and soccer cleats.

Wrestling- Practice begins at 3:10 p.m. on soccer field. Parents’ meeting will be in the wrestling room (1865 East Valley Parkway) at 5:40 p.m.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Academians)- Meets every Wednesday during lunch in Room C-201 (Mr. Brose’s classroom). Come and share with us!
