CHARTER NOTES
Monday thru Wednesday, January 8 to January 10, 2007

Week 1


Welcome Back:
Hopefully all students and staff had a happy and restful holiday break. Now it is time to get back to work, as this will be a very busy semester! Good luck, welcome back, and Happy New Year!

Schedule Changes (TCP):
If you have questions about changes to your second semester schedule, see Mr. Grady.

NOTE:
Freshmen that were in Mr. Johnson’s Geography class are now in Mr. Brose’s Health Class (Room C201), and Mr. Brose’s Health students are now in Mr. Johnson’s Geography class (Room B203). Likewise, freshmen that were in Mr. Miller’s class are now in Mrs. Lasley’s Health class (Room F202), and Mrs. Lasley’s Health students are now in Mr. Miller’s Geography class (Room C201). Seniors shifted from either Economics to American Government or American Government to Economics. The Second Semester rosters for these classes are posted on the applicable classroom doors.

Independent Study PE (TCP):
All students who were assigned ISPE for the first semester are also assigned ISPE for the second semester (unless reassigned to the PE class or otherwise excused by Mr. Grady). New ISPE contracts are required and must be completed – signed and submitted – by Tuesday, January 16, 2007. To start the contracts, all freshmen assigned ISPE should meet with Mrs. Lasley at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (January 9) in the Student Union; all sophomores, juniors, and seniors assigned ISPE should meet at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (January 10) in Room F203. Remember, completed ISPE contracts are due by Tuesday, January 16!

Parents Mark Your Calendars:
The next PAB meeting is on Tuesday, January 23 in the library. This is one you won’t want to miss! The PAB has invited special guest speakers who will provide information on financial planning for college. More details will follow in the near future.

Driver’s Ed Course Sign-Up:
Those students interested in signing up for Driver’s Education please stop by Mr. Waterhouse’s room (C101) and pick up a registration form. The class covers the book portion of Driver’s Education and prepares you to take the DMV test for your permit. You must have turned 15 years old on or before November 15, 2006, and you must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA to be in the class. Class will meet every Wednesday afternoon from 3:05 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.. Class starts January 22, 2007. Space is limited to the first 20 qualified students.

Senior Exhibition (TCP):
Seniors are reminded that the Senior Exhibition is rapidly approaching. Three months of preparation time remain. You should have completed your college essay, college application, post-graduation plan and letter of recommendation for your portfolio and started thinking about your presentation. Please note that your resume is due to your mentor on February 2.

Textbooks (TCP):
All TCP and Blended students are reminded that all of your textbooks must have your name inside the front cover and have a book cover. Remember, textbooks are very expensive and must be paid for by the student if lost or damaged.

CSF:
CSF application time is back! If you had good grades last semester, you may qualify for the California’s premiere scholastically-based service club! If you are a past member, you need to reapply for this semester. Applications are available in the library and in the Main Office and must be returned to F-203 or the library by Friday, January 19. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Boys’ Basketball:
Next scheduled games: Tomorrow, January 9, ECHS vs. Borrego HS, 3:30 PM, @ Valley High School. Thursday, January 11, ECHS @ Tri-City Christian HS, JV-4:30 PM, Varsity-6:00 PM. Go White Tiger cagers!

Girls’ Basketball:
Next scheduled game: Friday, January 12, ECHS @ Mt. Empire HS, 5:30 PM. Go White Tiger cagers!

Boys’ Soccer:
Next scheduled games: Wednesday, January 10, ECHS vs. High Tech HS, 3:30 PM, ECHS Soccer field. Friday, January 12, ECHS vs. Tri-City Christian HS, 6:30 PM, ECHS Soccer field. Go White Tiger soccer!

Girls’ Soccer:
Next scheduled game: Friday, January 12, ECHS vs. Calvin Christian HS, 4:00 PM, ECHS Soccer field. Go White Tiger soccer!

Wrestling:
Next scheduled meets: Tomorrow, January 9, Dual meet- ECHS @ Army/Navy Academy, 7:15 PM. We will leave school @ 5:30 PM. Friday, January 12-Saturday, January 13, Boys’ varsity tournament @ Mission Hills HS. Friday times- 12:30 PM-9:00 PM. Saturday- all day. Go White Tiger wrestlers!
