Week 9
CAHSEE Testing!
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) will be administered to
all ECHS sophomores on Tuesday, March 20 and Wednesday, March 22. All
students must pass the CAHSEE to receive a high school diploma. The CAHSEE
consists of two parts: an English language arts exam (administered on
Tuesday) and a mathematics exam (administered on Wednesday). All TCP sophomores
have been assigned to a specific testing room. ILP students should request
additional information form their Teacher of Record.
AP Exams (TCP):
Juniors and seniors taking AP Exams this year are reminded a $13 deposit
for each exam is due by Friday, March 9. Bring your payment, cash (exact
change) or check made payable to ECHS, to your AP teacher. Exams will
only be ordered for those students who submit the deposit by the deadline.
Note: The remaining $70 balance will be due no later than Friday, April
20.
Senior Exhibition Deadline (TCP):
The personal story section of your portfolio is due Friday, March 9. Please
contact your mentor if you have any questions.
Community Service Opportunity:
A local resident caring for her aging mother is looking for a responsible
junior or senior to help with grocery shopping and light housekeeping
one day per week. The residence is located on Pearl Avenue in the 92027
zip code. Interested students must have a driver’s license and should
contact Sandy Witt (207-5471).
Spring Break Service Trip:
Friday, March 9 is the due date for the $50.00 deposit for this year’s
trip! Space is limited! Please see Mr. Armentano in room G105 if you have
any questions.
SAT PREP:
The SAT Prep Class, scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 10, is full. The
course meets every Tuesday and consists of eight sessions to help students
prepare for all three sections of the SAT Reasoning Test: critical reading,
mathematics, and writing skills. Interested students must sign up with
Ms. Duncan in the ILP building. Students are required to purchase materials
for the course. Since space is limited, juniors will have priority enrollment.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Duncan. Please note: If
you are on the waiting list from the first course, you must sign up with
Ms. Duncan no later than Wednesday, March 7 or your space will be released.
Airband Auditions (TCP):
ASB is organizing an air band competition! Interested students must sign
up with Mr. Takagi (E100) by Friday, March 9. ASB will hold auditions
the week of March 12.
It’s Prom Time! It’s Prom Time! 2007
Prom tickets are on sale this week (March 5-9) at lunch in front of the
library. There are only two days left to buy them at the low price of
$50, so come buy your tickets before it is too late. Tickets will not
be sold during the week of March 12-16. They will go on sale again the
weeks of March 19-30 for the price of $60. You won’t want to miss
this night to remember!
Note:
All students bringing a guest to prom must have a completed guest pass
application signed by an administrator/director of the guest’s school
(not required if guest has graduated from high school) and by the students’
ECHS director (TCP or ILP) before they can purchase tickets. Guest passes
and prom packets for ILP students are available in the front office from
Mrs. Brooks. ILP students need to give their completed prom packet to
their teacher of record promptly. The price of the ticket is determined
by the date when the completed packet is submitted to the ILP teacher.

Congratulations to the ECHS dance team for placing 2nd and 3rd at their
first competition. Great job White Tiger Dancers!
Girls’ Basketball Awards Night:
An awards banquet for girls’ basketball will be held tonight, March
8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Union. Students and their family members
are invited to celebrate an awesome season! Contact Coach Keyser or Coach
Luce for more information. Go White Tiger cagers!
Boys’ Soccer Awards Night:
The awards banquet for boys’ soccer will be held on Tuesday, March
13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Student Union. All players and
their parents are invited to celebrate an awesome season. Contact Coach
Cheney for more information. Go White Tiger soccer!
Academic League:

Freshmen begin @ 6:30 p.m., JV begins @ 7:00 p.m., and Varsity begins

Baseball:
Upcoming games: Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10, ECHS participates
in the tournament in Winterhaven, CA. TCP team members will be absent
from class on Friday, March 9. Tuesday, March 13, ECHS vs. Lutheran, 3:15
p.m. TCP early release time will be 1:45 p.m.
Softball:
Game results: Tuesday, March 6- ECHS-12-Capistrano Christian- 12. Game
was called after nine innings, on account of darkness. Upcoming games:
