CHARTER NOTES
Thursday and Friday, March 15 to March 16, 2007

Week 10

Progress Reports:
Friday, March 16 is the end of the second grading period. Progress reports will be distributed on Thursday, March 22.

Dance:
According to Wikipedia, the equation for phosphorescence is S0 + Hv --> S1 --> T1 --> S0 + hv'. Although you may not remember this, you --> really ought to remember that the Luminous Essence of Phosphorescence Dance will take place on March 23 in the Student Union. The dance will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door for $8. There will be a professional DJ and the new Charter dance rules will be in action! Make sure to wear white since the whole room will be lit with black lights. If you do happen to forget any of this information, you can check out Wikipedia.org and search for ECHSdance (all one word).

Air Band:
This Friday at lunch, come witness the spectacle of the semester! Four different air bands will compete for a valuable prize. Performances will start promptly at 12:30 p.m., so grab your food and prepare to be impressed!

Join the Round Up!
All parents are invited to our first "Western Round up the Funds" Auction/Dinner Fundraiser meeting. We're looking forward to a very successful event, but we need your help putting it together. All levels of participation are available. Join the volunteer round up on March 20, at 7:00pm in the library. For more information please call or email Pati Navarro at 740-5943 or roundup@cox.net.

CAHSEE Testing:
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) will be administered on Tuesday, March 20 and Wednesday, March 21. Students must pass the CHSEE to receive a high school diploma. The CHSEE consists of an English language arts exam on Tuesday and a mathematics exam on Wednesday. All TCP sophomores will be assigned to a specific testing room. ILP students should request additional information from their Teacher of Record.

Europe Trip:
For all of you going with Mr. Halling to Germany, Austria, and East Europe later this month, there will be an important meeting Monday evening, March 19, in room E-101 at 6:29 p.m. Either you or one of your parents needs to be there -- both if possible. Contact Mr. Halling now with any questions about the meeting.

Job Opportunity:
Are you a senior and experienced swimmer looking for summer employment? Murray Callan Swim Schools, located in San Marcos, is looking for summer swim instructors. Wages start at $11.00 per hour. Interested students should pick up a flyer in the library or main office.

Prom:
007 Prom tickets will go on sale again on Monday (March 19) at lunch in front of the library for the price of $60. This price will continue during the weeks of March 19-30. You won’t want to miss this night to remember!
Note: All students bringing a guest to prom must have a completed guest pass application signed by an administrator/director of the guest’s school (this signature is not required if guest has graduated from high school) and by the students’ ECHS director (TCP or ILP) before they can purchase tickets. Guest passes and prom packets for ILP students are available in the front office from Mrs. Brooks. ILP students need to give their completed prom packet to their teacher of record promptly. The price of the ticket is determined by the date when the completed packet is submitted to the ILP teacher.

CSF:
The next all-member meeting is Tuesday, March 20, at 12:30 p.m.
