CHARTER NOTES
Thursday and Friday, March 22 to March 23, 2007

Week 11

Dance:
The Luminous Essence of Phosphorescence Dance will take place on March 23 in the Student Union. The dance will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door for $8. There will be a professional DJ and the new Charter dance rules will be in action! Make sure to wear white since the whole room will be lit with black lights. If you do happen to forget any of this information, you can check out Wikipedia.org and search for ECHSdance (all one word).

Senior Portfolio Deadline:
All seniors are reminded three exemplary works for your portfolio are due to your mentor no later than Friday, March 30. Select completed and graded assignments that reflect your best work in different subject areas.

Dress Code!
As the weather warms up, female students are reminded that shorts and skirts must be at least mid-thigh in length and tops must cover the shoulder with no part of the undergarment showing. In addition, bare midriffs are not permitted. Students who violate this policy will be disciplined accordingly.

Prom:
007 Prom tickets are on sale again this week (March 19-23) at lunch in front of the library for the price of $60. This price will continue next week (March 26-30). You won’t want to miss this night to remember!
Note: All students bringing a guest to prom must have a completed guest pass application signed by an administrator/director of the guest’s school (this signature is not required if guest has graduated from high school) and by the students’ ECHS director (TCP or ILP) before they can purchase tickets. Guest passes and prom packets for ILP students are available in the front office from Mrs. Brooks. ILP students need to give their completed prom packet to their teacher of record promptly. The price of the ticket is determined by the date when the completed packet is submitted to the ILP teacher.

Staff and Parents:
The 2007 Prom Committee of Escondido Charter High School requests the honor of your presence at “Diamonds are Forever” on May 12, 2007 from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM at the Bristol Hotel in downtown San Diego. We need chaperones and Blackjack dealers in order to ensure the success of Prom 2007. Your prompt reply would be most helpful. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Soule at (760) 737-3154 x250 or lsoule@echs.org.

New Dance Rules:
While listening to the Charter Notes, you may have asked yourself, "What are these new Charter dance rules?" They are essentially the same as before - your dancing must be appropriate and you must abide by the dress code as well as all other school rules. After you buy your ticket, you will be asked to read and sign a sheet indicating that you will obey the rules. However, if you choose to not follow them, you will be ejected from the dance on the first offense. No warnings will be given and you will not receive a refund. Not only will inappropriate behavior get you kicked out of the dance, but it will also threaten the possibility of having more dances in the future.

Relay Rally:
Attention all students planning on or thinking about participating in Relay for Life in any capacity: Come to the Relay Rally next Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in F-203 for everything you need to know! Who can spend the night? What bands will be coming? How can you raise funds? How much community service can you claim? How can you join a team? Once you are on a team, what do you do? Can your brother be a chaperone? Do we really need chaperones? Can I just show up at the Relay and join in? (The answer to the last question is NO.)
