Week 4
ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE
logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library.
Parking Permits:
All ILP and TCP students parking a car at school must register or re-register
their vehicle and obtain a parking permit prior to September 7. Registration
forms may be picked up at the Main Office. A parking permit will be
issued when the registration form is completed and returned to the Main
Office. After September 7, vehicles without parking permits will be
given one warning and then booted.
Note:
All staff are reminded to re-register their vehicles and obtain a new
parking permit by Friday, September 7.
School Photographs:
TCP students note! School pictures (for yearbook and ID cards) and individual
photos (for personal use) will be taken Thursday, September 13 during
school. If you would like to purchase individual photos, the order forms
(with payment) must be returned on Thursday, before you get your picture
taken. Order forms will be distributed to first period classes this
week. Please note: There is no makeup day.
PSAT:
The PSAT Exam will be administered on Wednesday, October 17. Registration
for juniors begins today! See Mrs. McCrory or Mrs. Endermann with your
$12 payment (cash or check made payable to ECHS) to register. Don’t
delay. Seats for the PSAT Exam are limited to the first 75 students
who register. Sophomores stand by. Registration will be open to you
beginning Monday, September 10.
Accounting Class:
Do you want to get a head start on a career in business? ECHS will offer
an Accounting course beginning Monday, September 10 and ending Wednesday,
February 20. The course will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30
p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Students who complete the course will earn 10 elective
credits. Interested students should see Mr. Owen in Building A.
Community Service Opportunity:
Ocean Conservancy is gearing up for the next International Coastal Cleanup
(ICC), coming to a beach or waterway near you on September 15, 2007.
There’s still time for you to get involved. Last year 358,617
dedicated volunteers in 68 countries removed seven million pounds of
debris from the ocean, rivers, and lakes. Become part of the solution
to pollution, register for this year’s cleanup at: http://www.oceanconservancy.org/icc.
Parents, Get Ready to “Round Up”:
You have seen the cowboy hats, now it is time to mark your calendars
for FUN!! The annual “Western Round Up the Funds” fundraiser
auction is on Saturday, September 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This
exciting dinner and auction is held by the Parent Advisory Board &
Athletics to benefit your students throughout the year. The Tickets
are $20 and will be available Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week
after school from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in front at the table. For
those not arriving at school until 4:00 p.m., we will have someone available
on Thursday, so bring your checkbooks!! Also, tickets will be available
in the office beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, September 5. Last
year we sold out almost two weeks early; this year we are way ahead
of last year’s sales. SO, don’t wait! Any questions, contact

Parents Needed:
Parent volunteers are needed to help with the September 29 fundraiser
as well as PAB sponsored events throughout the school year. If you have
questions, please contact Frank Rumbawa, PAB president at 760-739-9102.
NHS Members:
Get your Town & Country permission slips signed! If you don’t
have one and/or need to schedule your service, please see Ms. Rittenhouse.
Our next NHS meeting will be on today, September 4, at which we will
distribute information about our first fabulous weekend event!
Community Service Opportunity:
The Escondido Humane Society is in need of supplies! ECHS’s NHS
group is conducting a supplies drive. You can help by collecting items
from the wish list (available from Ms. Rittenhouse) from friends, neighbors,
and businesses. Time you spend engaged in obtaining supplies can be
reported as community service. See Ms. Rittenhouse in F-203 for details.
Cross Country Practice Schedule:
The cross country team will complete the following schedule: Monday-
Intervals, Tuesday- Strength training, Wednesday- Off/Cross Training,
Thursday- Hills/Tempo, and Friday- Easy run/Strength training. All practices
are 3:30 PM-5:00 PM, and students will meet in the commons area at school.
