Columbus Day:
Monday, October 8 is Columbus Day; school will be closed. Enjoy the
long weekend.
Senior Portfolio Deadline:
All seniors are reminded a final draft of your College Essay is due
to your mentor no later than this Friday, October 5.
Modified Day (TCP):
Wednesday, October 17 is a modified day for TCP teacher professional
development training. Student dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Note: The modified bell schedule is attached.
Veteran’s Day Assembly Slideshow:
TCP students, we need your help. Bring photographs of family members
who were/are veterans to your English class. The photographs will be
included in our Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 9, 2007. Students
must submit photographs individually in the bags provided by your English
teachers. Students need to write their name and their English teacher’s
name on each bag, and they must complete a Required Photograph Information
slip for each photograph. Photographs will be returned to you within
one week after submission. Please make submissions to your English teachers
no later than October 19, 2007.
Carnival:
Listen Up! The carnival is tomorrow (Friday) at 6:00 p.m., are you coming?
Tickets are $15 at the door and guests are welcome to attend. There
is no better way to spend a Friday night than to play games, eat delicious
food, and practice your ring toss technique! Come join us for a fun-filled
night, full of games, food, and prizes. Hope to see you at the Carnival!
Homecoming:
Homecoming is approaching! The 2007 dance is coming soon - November
3, so it's time to buy tickets. Tickets will be on sale daily at lunch
starting Tuesday, October 9. Tickets are $30 during the first week,
increasing to $35 at the end of the lunch period on Friday, October
12. You can bring a guest, but the guest pass must be submitted and
approved prior to buying the guest's ticket. Make sure to buy your tickets
early! When you buy your ticket, you will be required to sign an agreement
acknowledging that you have read and agree to abide by all ECHS rules
during the dance. Failure to comply with the rules will result in dismissal
from the dance without a refund on the first offense.
Community Cleanup:
Escondido Charter High School is sponsoring a community cleanup along
East Valley Parkway on Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. The cleanup is an excellent way for students to complete the four
hours of community service required each semester. Students, parents,
and staff are invited to join us! All supplies will be provided for
cleaning. Free food and drink will be served at 12:00 p.m. See you there!
FORE!
The 6th Annual American Heritage Education Foundation Golf Tournament
will be held on Monday, November 12 at Maderas Golf Club in Poway. Registration
forms are available in the Main Office or may be downloaded from our
website at www.echs.org.
CSU Applications:
California State Universities will accept applications from October
1 – November 30. The on-line application is available at www.csumentor.edu.
Seniors should select the Fall 2008 undergraduate application.
UC Applications:
The University of California campuses will accept applications from
November 1 – November 30. Although you cannot submit an application
until November 1, seniors are encouraged to begin working on the application
now. Visit www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply to access the Fall 2008
undergraduate application.
TCP & ILP Seniors:
The prom committee needs your submissions for our first annual Senior
Sweatshirt Design Contest. The winner of this contest will receive two
free tickets to prom. You must submit the designs for the back, hood,
and front-left “pocket” area on 8 ½ x 11 sheets of
paper, and you may only use two colors (selected from maroon, white,
and black). Designs and color selection for the sweatshirt (whichever
color you do not select for the graphics) are due by 3:00 on Friday,
October 12, 2007. TCP seniors should make submissions to Mrs. Childs
in C100, and ILP students should make submissions to Mrs. Brooks in
the front office. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Childs

TCP & ILP Juniors & Seniors:
It’s prom time again! If you want to be involved in making Prom
2008 a night to remember, then come join the prom committee every Thursday
at lunch in Mrs. Soule’s room (C102).
CSF:
CSF will meet Tuesday, October 9 at 12:30 p.m. in F-203.
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Academians):
FCA will hold its first official meeting on Wednesday, October 10, in
room B-101 at lunchtime. The meeting will cover introductory topics,
as well as a time to share your ideas for events/activities for the
coming year. Bring your lunches.
Cross Country Practice Schedule:
The cross country team will complete the following schedule: Monday-
Intervals, Tuesday- Strength training, Wednesday- Off/Cross Training,
Thursday- Hills/Tempo, and Friday- Strength and Conditioning. All practices
are 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m., and students will meet in the commons area
at school. Next meet: Friday, October 11, First Coastal Conference meet,
3:30 p.m., at Guajome Park in Vista. TCP early release time will be

ECHS White Tiger football:
This Friday, October 5, our White Tigers will play against the Bishop’s
School Knights at La Jolla High School (See the football page of our
school website for directions.). The JV game will begin at 4:30 p.m.
TCP JV players will need to be released at 2:30 p.m. The JV bus leaves
at 2:45 p.m. The varsity game will begin at 7:00 p.m. All varsity players
need to meet in the Student Union at 4:00 p.m. The varsity bus leaves
at 4:30 p.m. Go White Tigers!
Girls’ Volleyball:
Next volleyball match: Friday, October 12, ECHS @ Pacific Ridge, 4:00
PM. TCP students will be released at 2:30 PM (unless otherwise notified).

Wrestling Informational Meeting:
If you are interested in participating on the ECHS wrestling team, plan
to attend the informational meeting on Thursday, October 11 (Please
note date change.) 3:05 p.m. in room C201. Come and hear all the essential
information for the upcoming season. Contact Coach Brose if you have
