Week 10
ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE
logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library.
End of Grading Period (TCP):
Friday, October 12 was the end of the second grading period. Progress
reports will be distributed on Wednesday, October 16.
Modified Day (TCP):
Wednesday, October 17 is a modified day for TCP teacher professional
development training. Student dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Note: The modified bell schedule is attached.
PSAT:
The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:05 a.m.
in the theatre. All registered students should report to the theatre
no later than 8:00 a.m. Note: Late students will not be admitted.
Support Our Troops:
For the next four weeks, TCP will be involved in a fundraiser in conjunction
with Blue Star Mothers of America to raise money military personnel
serving overseas. The money raised will be used to create gift baskets.
The fundraiser begins today, October 15 and will end on Thursday, November
8. The fundraiser will take place in the first period classes. The class
that raises the most money will win a pizza party!
Veteran’s Day Assembly Slideshow:
TCP students, we need your help. Bring photographs of family members
who were/are veterans to your English class. The photographs will be
included in our Veteran’s Day Assembly on November 9, 2007. Students
must submit photographs individually in the bags provided by your English
teachers. Students need to write their name and their English teacher’s
name on each bag, and they must complete a Required Photograph Information
slip for each photograph. Photographs will be returned to you within
one week after submission. Please make submissions to your English teachers
no later than October 19, 2007.
UCSD Admissions Presentation:
Juniors and seniors interested in attending UCSD are encouraged to attend
the UCSD admissions presentation on Friday, October 26 at 8:15 a.m.
in Room D202. Interested students must see Mrs. McCrory no later than
Wednesday, October 24 for a pass to attend the presentation.
Round Up Winners (TCP)!
Congratulations to all the students 'cause you won the Round Up Ticket
Sale Student Challenge - you sold more than 50 tickets! So, on Monday,
October 22 we'll have our drawing, and one of you (who sold tickets)
will win $100. Also, on Monday we will serve a free lunch from Chipotle
to the class who raised the most money with the class baskets! And the
winning class is… the Sophomores! They won last year as freshmen
and they won again as Sophomores! Way to go! Enjoy your free lunch on
Monday, October 22. The Round Up Committee would like to thank all of
you for your participation.
ECHS Teen Drivers & Parents:
The California Highway Patrol's Start Smart program is a driver safety
education class which targets new and future licensed teenage drivers
between the age of 15 - 19 and their parents. The PAB will host this
one night program on Tuesday, October 30 from 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
in the American Spirit Theater. All Charter students, TCP and ILP, and
their parents are invited to attend. This is a wonderful program for
young drivers and their parents, provided to you at no cost. Take advantage
of this great opportunity to help your teens become better drivers.

The Book Fair is coming!
Bring your friends and family to the Escondido Barnes and Noble to benefit
ECHS. The Book Fair is Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to
9:00 p.m. Any purchase at Barnes and Noble when accompanied by our voucher
will give a percentage of purchase to ECHS. This includes Starbucks
items, books, and other purchases. Vouchers and flyers are available
in the main office or library. BUY BOOKS!
Community Cleanup:
Escondido Charter High School is sponsoring a community cleanup along
East Valley Parkway on Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. The cleanup is an excellent way for students to earn three hours
of community service. Students, parents, and staff are invited to join
us! All supplies will be provided for cleaning. Free food and drink
will be served at 12:00 p.m. See you there!
Note: Students are required to complete four hours of community service
each semester.
Christian College Fair:
A national Christian college fair will be held on today, October 15
at Tri-City Christian School in Vista from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Admissions
counselors from Christian colleges from across the country will be available
to answer questions. For more information, visit www.naccap.org or pick
up a flyer in the Library or Main Office.
Scholarships:
Two additional scholarships are posted on the bulletin board in the
library including The Burger King Scholars Program designed to honor
students who have maintained a GPA of 2.5 or higher while working an
average of 15 hours per week and The Truman Picard Scholarship Program
for Native American students pursuing a degree in Natural Resources.
Stop by the library to determine if you meet the criteria to apply for
these scholarships.
TCP & ILP Juniors & Seniors:
It’s prom time again! If you want to be involved in making Prom
2008 a night to remember, then come join the prom committee every Thursday
at lunch in Mrs. Soule’s room (C102).
NHS:
The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 16 at 12:30 p.m. in F203.
Bring your Humane Society Work Day permission slips!
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Academians):
FCA will meet on Wednesday, in room B101 at lunchtime. Bring your lunches.
Dance Team:
There will be an informational meeting for students interested in joining
the Dance Team on Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Union.
Cross Country Practice Schedule:
Next meet: Friday, October 19, Jaguar Invitational at Kit Carson Park,
2:00 p.m. All TCP students will be released from school at 12:30 p.m.

This Friday, October 19, our White Tigers travel to La Jolla Country
Day School to battle against the Torreys. The JV game begins at 4:30
p.m. All TCP JV players will be released at 2:30 p.m. The Varsity game
begins at 7:00 p.m. All varsity players need to meet in the gym by 4:00
