Week 14

ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library.

Veteran’s Day Assembly:

Due to the Veterans Day Assembly, there will be a modified bell schedule on Friday, November 9. The assembly will begin at 2:00 p.m. and student dismissal will remain at 2:55 p.m.

Veteran’s Day:
ECHS will be closed on Monday, November 12 for Veterans Day.

Round Up Winners (TCP) - Rescheduled!
Congratulations to all the students 'cause you won the Round Up Ticket Sale Student Challenge - you sold more than 50 tickets! Today (Monday), November 5 we'll have our drawing, and a student who sold tickets will win $100. Also, on Monday we will serve a free lunch from Chipotle to the sophomores who raised the most money with the class baskets! Way to go! Enjoy your free lunch today. The Round Up Committee would like to thank all of you for your participation.

CAHSEE:
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) make-up will be administered on Tuesday, November 7, and Wednesday, November 8 in the library. All students required to take the make-up exam will be contacted.
Note: The library will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Homecoming Dance:
Homecoming is approaching - it will be on November 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are on sale this week for $45. Also, if you plan to order pictures from the photographer at the dance, please pick up an order form at the ticket table this week. Finally, we will be having a special guest this year--an elephant will be joining us for your petting and riding pleasure.

College Application Reminder:
The filing period for University of California and California State University campuses closes November 30. If you need an updated copy of your transcript to fill out the self-reported academic section or have any questions related to specific items in the application see Mrs. McCrory.

Warm up in the morning!
CSF is now offering hot cocoa every morning right outside the arch for just $1.00.

Reward Our Firefighters:
As a way to say “Thanks” to the firefighters from the Midway fire station, ECHS is collecting gift cards. We’d like to treat these men and women to a cool treat, so please pick up Cold Stone and Baskin Robbins ice cream gift cards, to be presented to the 33 firefighters of our local station by November 13. Turn in gift cards to the decorated bag in the main office.

Help Fire Victims:
It’s time for an old-fashioned community rummage sale to raise money for ECHS families who have been affected by the recent fires. Gently used, sellable items will be collected at the end of the week of November 5 for a rummage sale to be held here at school on Saturday, November 10. If you can help set up, sell, clean up, haul away, or just donate items, please DO! Contact Jesse Torres or Ms. Rittenhouse to sign up to help or get more information.

Juniors & Seniors:
It’s prom time again! If you want to be involved in making Prom 2008 a night to remember, then come join the prom committee every Thursday at lunch in Mrs. Soule’s room (C102).

Senior Sweatshirts Contest:
The winner of the Senior Sweatshirt Contest and two free tickets to prom is Natalie Shapiro! Thank you for your participation to all students who made submissions.


Seniors:
Starting November 13-November 30, Senior Sweatshirts will be available to order for $35. It will include all the names of the graduating seniors from TCP and ILP. Please take the opportunity to buy this sweatshirt to show your class spirit and keep warm. Sweatshirts may be purchased from Mrs. Childs (C100) after school any day of the week from November 13-November 30. They will also be available during lunch in front of the library on the following days: Wednesday (11/14), Friday (11/16), Monday (11/19), Tuesday (11/20), Wednesday (11/28), and Friday (11/30). Order forms will be available in your English classes starting 11/13. Please include all the required information (especially the desired size), and bring exact cash or checks made out to ECHS ASB. ILP: Order forms will be available with Mrs. Brooks in the front office starting 11/13, and you will place your orders with her as well.

CSF:
The next meeting for all members will be Tuesday, November 6, at 12:30 pm in F203.

NHS:
The next meeting for all members will be Tuesday, November 13, at 12:30 pm in F203.

Cross Country Schedule:

ECHS White Tiger football:
Friday, November 9, will be the last game of the regular season! Our White Tigers will travel out to Calipatria to tussle with the Hornets! JV game time will be 4:30 p.m., and the varsity game time will be 7:00 p.m. All TCP football players and cheerleaders need to be released from school at 12:15 p.m. Both football teams and cheerleaders will travel on the buses together. Contact Coach Brose if you have any questions. Go White Tigers!

Girls Soccer:
First day of tryouts/practice will be Saturday, November 10, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Soccer field. Remember that you will not be allowed to practice if you don’t have your athletic handbook turned into Coach Page or Coach Torres. All forms should be completed in the handbook. If you are currently participating in a fall sport, and you have completed this year’s handbook form, please contact Coach Page. Get ready to run! Questions? Contact Coach Torres. Go White Tigers!
