Week 16

ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE logs and essays should be placed in the basket in the Library.

Operation Homefront San Diego:
Our military families need assistance during the Thanksgiving holiday, and ECHS would like your help. Our goal is to help needy families by providing the essentials needed for complete meals. We are asking for boxed and canned goods as follows:

Seniors:
Boxed stuffing
Juniors: Boxed potatoes/canned gravy
Sophomores: Canned veggies (corn/green beans/yams) /canned cranberries
Freshmen: Pies/rolls
Faculty: Donations to purchase gift certificates for turkeys

Please bring donations to the Main Office. The deadline to donate is November 20.


Thanksgiving Holiday:
ECHS will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday from Wednesday, November 21 through Friday, November 23. School will be closed. Enjoy the holiday and long weekend!
Rummage Sale: Thanks to all of you who donated or helped out with the rummage sale! Over $700 was raised to help out ECHS families who lost homes during the recent fires.

Thank you:
Our firefighters at the Midway station were treated to a big thank you from ECHS last week. Thanks to your kind help and a lot of legwork from one motivated student (Thanks, Rachel!) the station received a generous basket of Starbuck’s products, as well as gift cards for all kinds of delicious treats!

Saxon Day (TCP):
Saxon Day is almost here! ECHS's 9th annual celebration of Saxon Math will be held on Tuesday, November 20! Since Saxon Day will be held in the theater this year! All acts (including videos) must be screened in advance by Mr. Endermann.
Note: The modified schedule is attached. All TCP teachers are requested to inform Blended students of the modified schedule.

Save The Date!
The Annual Christmas Dinner/Dance is scheduled for Thursday, December 20. Tickets will go on sale for TCP after Thanksgiving break and ILP the following week. The Dinner/Dance, hosted by the P.A.B., will be held at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. Cost is $15 per person and is sure to be fun for all! Great food, music, friends and fun! Watch for more info coming soon!

Community Service Opportunity:
The Deer Springs Fire Safe Council is looking for students to assist with a Fireman’s Benefit Dinner scheduled for December 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Welk Resort. Student volunteers would help set-up for the event, sell raffle tickets, and distribute raffle prizes. Interested students should contact Bill Pickens at 751-3946 for more information or to sign up.

Scholarships:
Seven new scholarships for seniors are posted on the bulletin board in the library. Postings include an essay contest and the Ford Dealers Salute to Education scholarship program, along with scholarships for young entrepreneurs, women who want to enter a construction related profession (architecture, engineering, etc.), and students with extensive involvement in community service. Additionally, information about essay contests open to students in grades 10-12 are posted along with information about the San Diego Junior Miss scholarship program open to junior girls. Thousands of dollars are waiting to be won!


Seniors:
Senior Sweatshirts are available to order for $35.
It will include all the names of the graduating seniors from TCP and ILP. Please take the opportunity to buy this sweatshirt to show your class spirit and keep you warm. Sweatshirts may be purchased from Mrs. Childs (C100) after school any day of the week until November 30. They will also be available during lunch in front of the library on the following days: today (11/19) and tomorrow (11/20). Next week they will be on sale Wednesday (11/28) and Friday (11/30). Order forms will be available in your English classes. Please include all the required information (especially the desired size in adult sizes), and bring exact cash or checks made out to ECHS ASB. ILP: Order forms are available with Mrs. Brooks in the front office and you will place your orders with her as well.

CSF & NHS:
In honor of Saxon Day, there will be no CSF or NHS meeting this week. CSF will meet the Tuesday, November 27.

CSF Fundraiser:
Mmmmmm… chocolate. Watch for CSF’s next big fundraiser.

ECHS White Tiger football:
Football Awards Banquet will be Tuesday, November 27, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., American Spirit theatre. All players and their family members are invited to attend the banquet. Questions? Contact Coach Brose at 760-737-3154, ext. 148, or email him at gbrose@echs.org. Go White Tigers!

Volleyball Awards:
Our White Tiger volleyball team will celebrate their successful season with their awards banquet on Thursday, November 29, 6:00 p.m., in the Student Union. All players and their family members are invited to attend the banquet. Contact Coach Henry @ 760-522-7258 for more information. Go White Tigers!

Basketball Scrimmages:
Tuesday, November 20, Our basketball teams will scrimmage against Christian Life Academy in our gym. The girls’ scrimmage will begin at 4:00 p.m. The boys’ varsity scrimmage will begin at 5:00 p.m., while the JV scrimmage will begin at 6:30 p.m. Come and support our teams. Go White Tigers!

ATTENTION:
Due to a lack of interest, the wrestling season is in danger of being cancelled. Unless a minimum of 10 students are committed to the team by Tuesday, November 20, the season will be officially cancelled. If you would like to be a part of our wrestling team, please contact Mr. Brose by the end of today, November 19.
