Week 10
ISPE (TCP):
ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE logs
and essays should be placed in the basket in the library.
CAHSEE Testing!
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) will be administered to
all ECHS sophomores on Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12. All
students must pass the CAHSEE to receive a high school diploma. The CAHSEE
consists of two parts: an English language arts exam (administered on
Tuesday) and a mathematics exam (administered on Wednesday). All TCP sophomores
have been assigned to a specific testing room. ILP students should request
additional information form their Teacher of Record.
Registration for 2008/2009 School Year (TCP):
All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are reminded that your completed
registration packets were due Friday, March 14. Students who do not return
the registration packet will not be enrolled in TCP for the 2008/2009
school year.
Movie Night/Food Drive:
The Parent Advisory Board is excited to invite all the students at ECHS
to a Movie Night/Food Drive. We will have a huge inflatable screen out
on the sports field & will show the movie "Hair Spray.”
We’ll also have some munchies! So join us this Friday, March 14
at 7:30 p.m., bring a blanket to throw down on the grass or chairs if
you prefer. Also bring any canned food that you'd like to donate to our
food drive for the North County Food Bank. All you need to get in is your
ECHS student ID card. Join us to kick off Spring Break!
Police Teen Awareness Academy:
Applications for the Escondido Police Department’s Teen Awareness
Academy designed to introduce high school students to the roles and functions
of a police officer are due March 19. See Mr. Galindo in the main office
for an application.
Service Academy and ROTC Information Night:
San Diego’s annual Service Academy and ROTC Information Night will
be held on Thursday, March 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Northrop
Grumman in Rancho Bernardo. Students in grades 9-11 interested in attending
a military academy or college ROTC program should attend this event. Admissions
counselors from all five service academies and many college ROTC programs
will be present to provide valuable information and answer questions.
Pick up a flyer in the library or main office for more details.
Civil Air Patrol:
If you have an interest in aviation and leadership, check out Charter's
new Civil Air Patrol squadron. As a Cadet in the Civil Air Patrol, you
wear Air Force uniforms, learn military drill & customs and expand
your leadership skills and aerospace knowledge. You may also have the
chance to participate in orientation flights in CAP and military aircraft,
learn marksmanship skills, experience Navy desert survival training, and
participate in emergency services and search and rescue missions. See

Scholarships:
Three new scholarships sponsored by the Hidden Valley Kiwanis Club, Consuelo
Masonic Lodge, and Palomar Medical Center are posted on the bulletin board
in the library. Stop by, determine your eligibility, and apply.
Rotary Club Scholarship:
The Rotary Club made a last minute revision to their scholarship application,
including requiring an additional letter of recommendation. Seniors who
previously picked up an application in the library need to pick up the
revised version to ensure all application requirements are met by the
March 31 deadline.
March Movie Event:
Get ready, get set, and go to the AGEA hosted March Movie Event. The American
Spirit Theater is featuring the award winning movie Spirited Away, directed
by the famous Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. You’ll be sure to
enjoy the captivating story, heart warming characters, and wonderful animation.
The movie will be shown on Friday, March 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Admission is free, and friends and family are welcome to come.
Seniors and Juniors:
Remember, this is the last week to purchase prom tickets for $50 each.
They are available this whole week after school in Mrs. Childs’
room (C100). Tickets are also available tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday
during lunch. Due to the teacher luncheon on Friday, March 14, tickets
will not be sold during lunch, but they will still be available after
school. If you are bringing a guest, you must have a completed guest pass
prior to purchasing your guest’s ticket. ILP students may submit
their packets to their teacher of record in order to purchase tickets.
Tickets will be available March 24 to April 4 for $60.00 each and April
7 to 18 for $70.00 each. Please make checks payable to ECHS ASB.
CSF:
The next CSF meeting is this Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
Prom Committee:
Please join us for our weekly meeting on Thursday in Mrs. Soule’s
room at lunch as we make final decoration decisions and music selections.
Softball Bake Sales:
Only three more days left to help support the girl’s softball team.
Come get some home baked goods and some tasty treats on March 10, 24 &
26 from 2:45 – 3:15 p.m. Go White Tigers!!!

Cheer Tryout Clinic:
Students interested in trying out for the 2008-2009 ECHS White Tiger cheerleading
team should come to the cheer leading clinic on the following dates: Today,
March 10, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.,
and Wednesday, March 12, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Cheerleading Tryouts will
be held on Friday, March 14, from 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., in the gymnasium.

Football Informational Meeting:
If you are interested in joining the 2008 ECHS White Tigers Football program,
bring your parents come to the important informational meeting on Thursday,
April 3, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., in the theatre. We will discuss all the
important details about spring training, summer workouts, and the upcoming
season. We are all in this season together, so make sure that you are
