Week 17
ISPE (TCP):
ISPE essays and final logs will be due on Friday, May 23. Please contact
Mr. Brose if you have any questions about the content of the ISPE essay.
Spring Cleanup (TCP):
All TCP students are encouraged to attend this year’s Spring Cleanup
on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After the cleanup, ECHS
will provide pizza and drinks for everyone!
Community Service Hours Deadline(TCP):
The last day to submit community service hours for the second semester
is Friday, May 23. To ensure your hours are recorded, turn in a completed
and signed Community Service Record Form to the main office by the deadline.
Semester Finals (TCP):
Second semester final exams will be given on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday,
May 27 – 29. The finals for periods 1 and 2 will be on Tuesday,
for periods 3 and 4 on Wednesday, and for periods 5 and 6 on Thursday.
Dismissal will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Because of the
Unveiling Ceremony, dismissal for Wednesday will be at 12:30 p.m.
Note: The modified schedule is attached.
Unveiling Ceremony:
The bronze sculpture The American Spirit by Phyllis Peuker Raynes will
be unveiled on Wednesday, May 28, at 12:00 p.m. in front of the American
Spirit Theater. All parents and community members are invited to attend.
Note: TCP teachers will escort their 4th period students to the theater
at the end of the testing period on Wednesday.
AP Exams (TCP):
The following AP Exams will be administered at 8:00 a.m. on the dates
noted below. Room assignments are noted in parentheses.
English Literature, May 8 (D202) United States History, May 9 (D202)
English Language, May 14 (D202) World History, May 15 (D202)
Advanced Performing Arts:
ECHS will offer an advanced performing arts course sixth period next year.
TCP and ILP students are invited to audition to take the course. Auditions
will take place the week of May 19. See Mrs. McCrory no later than Friday,
May 9 to determine if the course fits in your schedule and for audition
details.
Choir: Mr. Halling is recruiting male voices for the choir.
If you are a returning male student with an interest in music theory and
music performance, take a risk, enroll in choir to satisfy your fine art
requirement or earn elective credits. See Mrs. McCrory if you would like
to change your fine art or elective selection to choir.
Summer School (TCP):
Summer school will be held from June 9 to July 3. Classes will be held
from 8:00 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. daily. Students may complete a maximum of
two semesters of work (10 credits). All students who have NOT successfully
completed all courses for their current grade level or who are credit
deficient should attend summer school. Please see Mrs. McCrory if you
have any questions about summer school.
Junior, Sophomore, & Freshmen Parents (TCP):
We'd like your help with an all night party to celebrate our Seniors!
Grad Nite will be held on Friday, May 30, from 11:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
We're planning a night full of fun for the graduates, but we need volunteers
to help set up, chaperone, and clean up. Senior parents are organizing
this event, but we need the parents of underclassmen to help the night
of the event. Parents will work in shifts, so it’s not too much

50's & 60's Decorations (TCP):
The theme for Grad Nite is California Cruisin', and the Parent Advisory
Board would like to know if you have fun "California Cruisin'"
decorations. We're looking for 50's/60's memorabilia, beach items, and
retro type decorations that we can borrow. If you have items you can lend
us, please contact Pati Navarro at 740-5943 or navarrofive@cox.net.
Spaghetti Dinner:
Support the Girl's Softball team by participating in this year's spaghetti
dinner/fundraiser on Friday, May 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the
Student union. The cost is $10 per person and $30 per family. Tickets
can be purchased from your favorite softball player or call Laura Geist
at 619-885-6552(c) 760-781-3379(h). Tickets will also be sold at the door.
Young Republicans:
The Young Republicans club will meet today, May 8, during lunch in C201.
Bring your opinions on what the next President of the United States should
do about the war in Iraq, student aide for college, and immigration. See
you in room C201.
Prom Committee:
Please attend the mandatory debriefing meeting for Prom 2008 today during
lunch in Mrs. Soule’s room C102. This is our final meeting. Thanks
for a great year.
Prom Lost-and-Found:
If you or your guest misplaced something at prom, please see Mrs. Childs
in C100 after school.
NHS:
Graduating NHS seniors need to turn in stole orders by Tuesday, May 13.
Baseball:

Track:
Congratulations to our boys’ track team, which won the league finals,
as well as the regular dual meet title. They are Frontier League Champions,
and they will compete in the CIF preliminary round at Mt Carmel HS on
May 17. Congratulations to our girls’ team, which place second in
