Week 19


ISPE (TCP):

ISPE essays and final logs will be due on Friday, May 23. Please contact Mr. Brose if you have any questions about the content of the ISPE essay.

Civil Air Patrol:
The organizational meeting for the Escondido Charter High School Civil Air Patrol squadron will take place TONIGHT: Thursday, May 22nd, at 7 p.m., in Classroom B-102, right next to the Math Lab. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors welcome! Glider rides at 2,000 feet above Los Alamitos airfield will take place this fall as will Desert Survival Training at Warner Springs. Be a part of the first year of Charter's Civil Air Patrol squadron!

Semester Finals (TCP):
Second semester final exams will be given on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 27 – 29. The finals for periods 1 and 2 will be on Tuesday, for periods 3 and 4 on Wednesday, and for periods 5 and 6 on Thursday. Dismissal will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Because of the Unveiling Ceremony, dismissal for Wednesday will be at 12:30 p.m.
Note: The modified schedule is attached.

Unveiling Ceremony:
The bronze sculpture The American Spirit by Phyllis Peuker Raynes will be unveiled on Wednesday, May 28, at 12:00 p.m. in front of the American Spirit Theater. All parents and community members are invited to attend.
Note: TCP teachers will escort their 4th period students to the theater at the end of the testing period on Wednesday.

Community Service Hours Deadline (TCP):
The last day to submit community service hours for the second semester is Friday, May 23. To ensure your hours are recorded, turn in a completed and signed Community Service Record Form to the main office by the deadline.

Books and Lockers (TCP):
1. Books: All textbooks must be checked in on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 27, 28, and 29 at the end of the school day. Seniors must return all books by 1:30 p.m. on May 28. Parents will be billed for all missing and damaged books.
2. Lockers: All lockers must be emptied, cleaned out, and locked shut at the end of the school day on Thursday, May 29. Parents will be billed for missing locks.

Last Day of School (TCP):
Friday, May 30 is the last day of school and filled with several important events.
1. Scholars Breakfast- All students with a 3.5 GPA for both semesters will be invited to attend the Scholar’s Breakfast. Student attendance is by invitation only.
2. Awards Assembly - All students are required to attend the Awards Assembly on Friday, May 30. Please report to your first period class at 10:00 a.m. for roll call.
3. Graduation - Commencement for the TCP will be held on the athletic field on Friday, May 30. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. and all seniors are requested to be present at the field no later than
6:15 p.m.

TCP Grad Practice:
All seniors planning on graduating this spring are reminded to attend the mandatory graduation practice on Thursday, May 29 on the athletic field. Practice begins at 10:15 a.m. Please be prompt. Students who do not participate in the graduation practice will not be permitted to walk at graduation.

Grad Night Tickets (TCP):
This Friday lunchtime will be the last day to purchase Grad Night tickets at the $40 price. Next week the price will increase to $45 per ticket.

Ready For Summer?
Come to the end of the year Luau on May 29 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sign yearbooks, eat amazing food, play awesome games, and hang out with all your friends! All this for only $5! Pay at the door.
Lost-and-Found: Students are reminded to pick up lost items from the ECHS lost-and-found. The lost-and-found is located in the TCP administrative office, across from the main office. Items not retrieved by Friday, May 30 will be donated to a charitable organization.

Summer School (TCP):
Summer school will be held from June 9 to July 3. Classes will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. daily. Students may complete a maximum of two semesters of work (10 credits). All students who have NOT successfully completed all courses for their current grade level or who are credit deficient should attend summer school. Please see Mrs. McCrory if you have any questions about summer school.

Baseball Awards Banquet:
All baseball players and their families are invited to attend the baseball awards banquet on today, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the student union. Come and celebrate the season with us! If you have questions, please contact Coach Stockton at (760) 207-1830.

Track Awards Banquet:
All track team members and their families are invited to the track awards banquet on Friday, May 23, at 6:00 p.m. in the student union. Come and celebrate the season with us! If you have questions, please contact Coach Wisden at (760) 522-0493.

Football Spring Training Maroon/White Flag Scrimmage:
Come and watch our White Tiger football team in the third annual Maroon/White flag football scrimmage! The scrimmage will be held on the ECHS soccer field from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. All players must wear their practice jersey, shorts, cleats, and bring a mouthpiece. Questions??? Girls’ Basketball Information Meeting:
If you are interested in participating on the 2008-2009 girls’ basketball team, come to the informational meeting on today, May 22, 3:15 p.m., in the gymnasium. Questions??? Contact Coach Keyser @ 760-670-7415. Go White Tigers!!!

Football Geek Squad Tryouts:
The White Tiger football team is needs a few dedicated geeks to help video games, take photos, and edit game film. Interested students should contact Mr. Krause via e-mail at gkrause@echs.org.
