Modified Day (TCP): Wednesday, September 30 is a modified day for TCP teacher professional development training. Student dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Note: The modified bell schedule is attached. TCP teachers, please inform your blended students of the schedule change.

Attention all Students! The 2010 Yearbook, "A MODERN PERSPECTIVE," is now on sale! This year's book features fifty additional pages of wonderful memories, as well as an extra 18 inches of delightful page layout area per page. The cost is $70.00 per book. A reservation can be made by placing a $35.00 deposit with either Mr. Panlasigui or Mrs. Jones. Cost of the book will increase to $80.00 starting December 11, 2009. Make checks payable to "ECHS ASB" and place "Yearbook" in the check memo.

ILP Students: If you plan on buying a 2010 yearbook, and would like to have your photo in the yearbook, you may sign up to have your photo taken between now and October 9. You must sign up in the Main Office for an appointment. Photos will be taken in room G103 at 1:00 p.m. on the day of your appointment. Limited spaces are available.

Attention All House Members (TCP): YOU’VE got the golden ticket! This Friday, October 2, right after school, in the American Spirit Theater, we’ll be screening Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. A snack is your price of admission. Excelsior—salty snack, Conor—sweet snack, Halcyon—drinks, Sideris—healthy snack. Once inside, sing along! Enjoy the tasty treats! Thrill to the trivia challenge! Dress up like your favorite character and earn valuable house points! Above all, enjoy this classic film and the company of your fellow Charterians!

Chips for Charter: Only 1 week left to buy your tickets! This will be our biggest event ever - buy your tickets before they run out. Our special guest is Senator Mark Wyland, and we have a well-known San Diego Television Personality scheduled as our Emcee. PAB is so excited for everyone to see what we have planned. Remember - this is a fund raiser for your kids to fund the Christmas Dinner Dance, Scholarships, Grad Night and more! What a fun way to donate. Chips for Charter, California Center for the Arts - Escondido, October 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets available on line at echs.org, or from any PAB member, the front office or driveway sales. You may also mail a check to ECHS PAB, in care of the school, and your tickets will be on will call the evening of the event. Any questions, please call 760-855-2293. See you there!

Chips for Charter Class Baskets: Your donations to the Chips for Charter Class Baskets will help support P.A.B. sponsored events; such as the Christmas Dinner Dance, Grad Night Party, Staff Appreciation Lunch, and Scholarships. For your convenience, collection boxes have been set up in the office for your contributions. Class themes for this year are as follows: Freshman – Entertainment; Sophomores – Sports and Games; Juniors – Household Items; and Seniors – Off to College. The grade level whose basket raises the most money, will receive a free lunch!

Homecoming 2009: Take a stroll downtown for this year's Homecoming Dance, "Night Life 09", on Saturday, October 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the American Spirit Theater. Tickets are on sale for $40 during lunch in front of the library. Friday, October 2, is the last day to purchase a ticket for $40. On Monday, October 5, the price increases to $50. Remember, if you plan on bringing a guest you must have the guest pass already approved in order to purchase your guest's ticket. For more information, come to the ticket table at lunch.


Support ECHS Athletics and Extra-Curricular Activities: The Eighth Annual ECHS Golf Tournament is Monday, October 12 at the Vineyard Golf Course, and we need your help! We are looking for players, donations, gift cards, and sponsorships. So come out and enjoy a day of golf. You will have a great time while supporting a great cause. To register, go to the website and click on the registration form. If you can't play but would like to contribute, please call Sheri Kennedy at ext. 165. The students thank you in advance for your support!

Need Community Service? Want a fun way to earn your 4 hours of required community service? Want to go somewhere close by and help out a local school? Every Wednesday after school from 3:15-4:15 pm you can go to North Broadway Elementary School and assist in a variety of activities such as: gardening, helping teachers in their classroom, and interacting with younger students. If you are interested in helping out, stop by Mrs. Soule’s room for a permission slip and more information. All ECHS students are welcome to participate.

NOSB and Marine Science Club: NOSB will meet today at 3:00 p.m. in room F104. The Marine Science Club will meet Thursday at lunch in room F104 to discuss the October field trip.

Key Club: Don’t forget we meet on Wednesdays at lunch in Mrs. Soule’s room (C-102). Come and find out about all the exciting community service activities we have planned!

Civil Air Patrol: Keep selling those Butter Braids! Order forms with payments are due no later than Thursday, October 8. Prizes will be awarded to top sellers.

NHS: The next NHS meeting will be on Tuesday, October 6 at 12:30 in F203.

CSF: Don’t miss the next meeting! It will be on Tuesday, September 29 at 12:30 in F203.

Town & Country: Earn 2 hours of community service after school while serving the senior citizens in our community. See Mrs. Rea for details. Note: It’s taco Tuesday!

Boys’ Basketball: If you are interested in playing Boys’ Basketball, we will be having an information meeting for players and parents on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Gym. Please contact Gerard Tanksley at (760) 445-2704 or via e-mail at gerard.tanksley@viasat.com with any questions.

Cheer: Please support the ECHS Cheerleading team by ordering a magazine or renewing your subscription at http://www.magfundraising.com/ECHSAthletics Magazines are a gift that gives all year long!
