School Pictures (TCP): School pictures were handed out during sixth period on Monday. If you do not have a sixth period, please stop by the TCP Office and pick up your pictures or your “second chance” order form. Order forms can be mailed directly to School Portrait Xpress.

CSU Applications: All 23 campuses in the California State University (CSU) system will accept applications from October 1 – November 30. Apply on-line at www.csumentor.edu. Remember to use an updated copy of your transcript to fill out the self reported academic section.

FORE! The 8th Annual American Heritage Education Foundation Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 12, at The Vineyard in Escondido. Registration forms are available in the Main Office or may be downloaded from our website at www.echs.org.

Homecoming Ticket Sales: If you haven't yet purchased a ticket for Homecoming, you can still do so at lunch in front of the library. Tickets now cost $50.

Modified Day (TCP): Wednesday, October 21 is a modified day for TCP teacher professional development training. Student dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Note: The modified bell schedule is attached.

College Fair: The Escondido Union High School District will host a college fair on Monday, October 19 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at California Center for the Arts. The college fair allows students and parents to ask admissions representatives from 70+ institutions questions about course offerings, admission and financial aid requirements, and campus life. Attending the college fair is a critical step in the college selection process. Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are encouraged to participate. Flyers with detailed information are available in the main office and library. Poway Unified School District will also host a college fair on Tuesday, October 20 at Del Norte High School from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

College Admissions Visit: A representative from Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) will visit Escondido Charter High School on Tuesday, October 13 at 11:30 a.m. PLNU is a private, Christian, Liberal Arts university that sits on 93 acres of beach front property. Top majors include Nursing, Business, Communication, Psychology, Education, and Pre-Med. Seniors interested in applying to PLNU and juniors interested in knowing more about PLNU are encouraged to attend. See Mrs. McCrory to sign-up for the presentation no later than Friday, October 9.

Attention all Students! The 2010 Yearbook, "A Modern Perspective," is now on sale! This year's book features fifty additional pages of wonderful memories, as well as an extra 18 inches of delightful page layout area per page. The cost is $70.00 per book. A reservation can be made by placing a $35.00 deposit with either Mr. Panlasigui or Mrs. Jones. Cost of the book will increase to $80.00 starting December 11, 2009. Make checks payable to "ECHS ASB" and place "Yearbook" in the check memo.

ILP Students: If you plan on buying a 2010 yearbook, and would like to have your photo in the yearbook, you may sign up to have your photo taken between now and October 9. You must sign up in the Main Office for an appointment. Photos will be taken in room G103 at 1:00 p.m. on the day of your appointment. Limited spaces are available.

Homecoming Photos: For all students attending homecoming on October 17, be sure to stop by at the ticket sales table during lunch to pick up a flier for homecoming pictures.

Chips for Charter: Ticket sales will remain open until the last 30 are sold. At Chips for Charter you will meet your State Senator Mark Wyland, and Terry Burhans our Emcee. PAB is so excited for everyone to see what we have planned. Remember - this is how we raise money for the Christmas Dinner Dance, Scholarships, Grad Night and more! Help us to keep those traditions by attending our biggest fund raiser of the year. What a fun way to donate. Chips for Charter, California Center for the Arts - Escondido, October 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets available on line at echs.org, or from any PAB member, the front office or driveway sales. Chips for Charter Class Baskets: Your donations to the Chips for Charter Class Baskets will help support P.A.B. sponsored events; such as the Christmas Dinner Dance, Grad Night Party, Staff Appreciation Lunch, and Scholarships. For your convenience, collection boxes have been set up in the office for your contributions. Class themes for this year are as follows: Freshman – Entertainment; Sophomores – Sports and Games; Juniors – Household Items; and Seniors – Off to College. The grade level whose basket raises the most money, will receive a free lunch!

Civil Air Patrol: Keep selling those Butter Braids! Order forms with payments are due no later than Thursday, October 8. Prizes will be awarded to top sellers.

Boys’ Soccer: Voluntary open soccer practice will begin on Fridays at 3:30pm on the ECHS soccer field. Please contact Coach Jorge Vasquez at 737-3154 x231 with any questions!

Cheer: Please support the ECHS Cheerleading team by ordering a magazine or renewing your subscription at http://www.magfundraising.com/ECHSAthletics Magazines are a gift that gives all year long!

Girls’ Soccer: Interested in being a part of ECHS Girls’ Soccer?? There will be an information meeting on Thursday, October 15, 7:00 p.m. in the Gym.
