ISPE (TCP): ISPE logs are due. Logs will not be accepted after Tuesday. All ISPE logs, essays, and contracts should be placed in the basket in the Library.

Modified Day (TCP): Wednesday, October 21 is a modified day for TCP teacher professional development training. Student dismissal is at 2:00 p.m.
Note: The modified bell schedule is attached.

UC Applications: All 9 campuses in the University of California (UC) system will accept applications for fall 2010 from November 1 – November 30. Although the submission cycle does not begin until November 1, students should begin the application during the month of October. Access the application at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply. Remember to use an updated copy of your transcript to complete the self reported academic section.

CSU Application Workshop: Mrs. McCrory will host a California State University (CSU) Application workshop on Wednesday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. All seniors applying to a CSU campus for fall 2010 are encouraged to attend. Students in attendance will receive direction on how to accurately fill out the CSU application and avoid common mistakes that interfere with receiving offers of admission. See Mrs. McCrory no later than Monday, October 19 to register.

Caps & Gowns (TCP): Did you miss your first opportunity to order your cap & gown? The Balfour representative will be here during lunch in front of the library on Wednesday, October 21, to take your orders.

Homecoming Ticket Sales: If you haven't yet purchased a ticket for Homecoming, you can still do so at lunch in front of the library. Tickets now cost $50.

Admissions Rep Visit: A representative from Biola University will visit ECHS on Monday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. Biola is a private, Christian university in La Mirada. Top majors include Business, Psychology, Nursing, Education, Cinema & Media Arts and Communication Studies. Seniors interested in applying to Biola and juniors interested in knowing more about Biola are encouraged to attend. See Mrs. McCrory to sign-up for the presentation no later than Friday, October 16.

Admissions Rep Visit: A representative from the University of Colorado Denver will visit ECHS on Wednesday, October 21, at 8:05 a.m. University of Colorado, Denver is a public, research institution with significant merit scholarship money available to offset the cost of out-of-state tuition. Top majors include Business, 3-D Animation, Recording Arts, Music Management, and Health Careers. Juniors and seniors are invited to attend. See Mrs. McCrory to sign-up no later than Monday, October 19.

Community Service: Heritage K-8 school is recruiting ECHS students to serve as reading buddies or tutors during regular school day hours (ILP) or after-school during tutorial (ILP or TCP). Interested students should contact Mrs. Curley at gcurley@echs.org or 737-3111.

Community Service: San Pasqual Union School is looking for ECHS students to assist with their first annual school carnival on Saturday, October 24. Students are needed to assist with set-up (9 a.m. - 11 a.m.), work game booths or food booths (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), and help clean-up (3 p.m. – 5 p.m.). Interested students should contact Michelle Fraedrich at michellefraedrich@gmail.com or 796-7517.

College Information Sessions: Admissions representatives from the following universities will be in San Diego this month: Georgetown (October 14) and Washington University in St. Louis (October 27). See the flyers posted in the library for locations, times, and registration information.

College Fair: The Escondido High School District college fair will be held on Monday, October 19 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at California Center for the Arts. Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are encouraged to participate. Flyers with detailed information are available in the main office and library. Poway Unified School District will also host a college fair on Tuesday, October 20 at Del Norte High School from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Attention all Students! The 2010 Yearbook, "A Modern Perspective," is now on sale! The cost is $70.00 per book. A reservation can be made by placing a $35.00 deposit with either Mr. Panlasigui or Mrs. Jones. Cost of the book will increase to $80.00 starting December 11, 2009. Make checks payable to "ECHS ASB" and place "Yearbook" in the check memo.

Homecoming Photos: For all students attending homecoming on October 17, be sure to stop by at the ticket sales table during lunch to pick up a flyer for homecoming pictures.

NOSB/Marine Science Club: NOSB will meet today (Tuesday) in room F104 after school. The Marine Science Club will meet Thursday at lunch in room F104. Don't forget your permission slips are due Friday.

NHS: The next all-club meeting will be Tuesday, October 20, at 12:30 in F203.

CSF: Don’t miss today’s CSF meeting in F203 at 12:30!

Town & Country: Earn 2 hours of community service credit after school on a Tuesday. See Mrs. Rea for details.

Boys’ Soccer: Interested in being a part of ECHS Boys’ Soccer?? There will be an information meeting on Monday, October 19, 7:00 p.m. in the Room C201. Bring your parents to learn more about the program and meet the coaches. Voluntary open soccer practice will begin on Fridays at 3:30pm on the ECHS soccer field.
