Spirit Week: For all you Charterians looking to show some spirit or wanting a reason to dress up, this week (11/2-11/6) is Spirit Week. ASB will distribute candy during first period to everyone that dresses up. The themes are as follows:

Be sure to check out the daily competitions & activities at lunch!

Attention all House Members (TCP): Today and tomorrow at lunch, in the area in front of Mr. Endermann’s classroom, the Houses will engage in the first of three rounds of the House Academic tournament. Come and play or cheer your house to victory!

Skateboards: Please use the skateboard rack located next to the bike rack to store your skateboards while at school. Beginning Monday, November 9, skateboards may no longer be stored in the Main Office. You must provide your own lock.
Attention All Charterians: The most Charterian of all competitive leagues is about to make its triumphant return to our campus. Join our Academic League teams (freshman, j.v., and varsity) and compete against area high schools in spirited academic contests. If you have the slightest inkling you might wish to join, please attend our informational meeting Monday, November 9, 2009, at lunch in Mr. Waterhouse’s class (C101). Practices are held Mondays and Thursdays at lunch and matches are held on Thursday nights starting in February. Go White Tiger Academicians!

Attention Halcyon Students (TCP)! There will be a Halcyon meeting on Friday at lunch in G103 open to all Halcyon members. A goblet full of cheer and some food will be provided for you! Also, don't forget to come support Halcyon students competing in the academic league match at lunch today!

Veteran’s Day Assembly: Due to the Veterans Day Assembly, there will be a modified bell schedule on Tuesday, November 10. The assembly will begin at 2:00 p.m. and student dismissal will remain at 2:55 p.m.
Note: The revised schedule is attached.

Veterans Day: ECHS will be closed on Wednesday, November 11 for Veterans Day.

End of Third Grading Period (TCP): The end of the third grading period is Friday, November 13. Progress reports will be handed out before school on Wednesday, November 18. Any progress reports not picked up will be promptly mailed.

Parent Advisory Meeting: ECHS Parent Advisory Board presents Start Smart – a California Highway Patrol Driver Safety Education Presentation for our new and future licensed teenage driver’s ages 15 – 19 and their parents/guardians. With three teen driving related deaths within the last three months in our county alone, this presentation is a must see for all our young drivers and parents. The presentation will be held in the school library at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17. Since space is limited, students and parents are asked to sign up in the school office by Friday, November 13.

Marie Calendars School Fundraiser: During Thanksgiving Week (11/20/09-11/26/09) bring your certificate to the Marie Calendars on W. 13th Avenue in Escondido, and they will donate 50 cents for each pie purchased. Certificates will be handed out in first period classes (TCP) or by your Teacher of Record (ILP). Buy as many pies as you like using one certificate per pie. Pick up extra certificates in the ECHS Main Office.

Saxon Day! Charter’s eleventh annual celebration of math and John Saxon, author of math books, is almost here! Tuesday, November 24 is Saxon Day; so it’s time to start preparing your math- or Saxon-related skits, songs, and performances! Individual acts should be no more than 5 minutes in length, and keep it Charter appropriate. All acts will be screened ahead of time. Talk to your math teacher for more details, and sign up your acts with Mr. Endermann (Room F100) by Friday, November 20. Go Saxon!
